Description
The Martinez is a historic cocktail from the late 19th century and is widely considered the direct ancestor of the famous Dry Martini. While the modern Martini is dry and minimalist, the Martinez is sweeter, richer, and more complex. It traditionally combines the lightly sweetened Old Tom Gin with sweet vermouth, a touch of maraschino liqueur for fruity depth, and orange bitters for spicy complexity. A fascinating glimpse into the history of cocktails.
