Description
The Kamikaze is a simple yet potent cocktail that became popular in the 1970s. It is essentially a Margarita where the tequila is replaced with vodka, and it is often served as a shot. The name, which means "Divine Wind," alludes to its potent effect. The mix of equal parts vodka, triple sec, and fresh lime juice results in a crisp, sharp-sour drink that is very direct. Its simple formula also makes it the basis for many other well-known cocktails, such as the Cosmopolitan.
Preparation
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously until the shaker is ice-cold.
- Strain the contents into a pre-chilled coupe or shot glass.
- Garnish with a lime wedge.
