Description

The Vodka Cranberry, officially known as the "Cape Codder," is one of the simplest and most popular long drinks ever. Its popularity soared in the 1940s as cranberry juice became a favorite mixer. The drink consists of just two ingredients and is the foundation for many more famous cocktails like the Cosmopolitan or the Sea Breeze. The tart fruitiness of the cranberry juice is perfectly complemented by the clean neutrality of the vodka. A squeeze of fresh lime (which technically makes it a "Rose Kennedy") perfectly rounds out the drink.

Preparation

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
  2. Pour the vodka over the ice.
  3. Slowly top up with chilled cranberry juice.
  4. Stir gently.
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.
