Description

The Abbey Cocktail is a classic drink from the 1930 "Savoy Cocktail Book." It is an elegant and refreshing aperitif that combines the botanical complexity of gin with the wine-like, fruity notes of Lillet Blanc. Fresh orange juice provides a pleasant sweetness and acidity, while a dash of orange bitters adds extra aromatic depth. A timeless classic for lovers of gin and vermouth.

Preparation

  1. Fill a coupe glass with ice to pre-chill it.
  2. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes.
  3. Shake vigorously until the shaker is ice-cold on the outside.
  4. Discard the ice from the glass.
  5. Strain the contents of the shaker through a fine sieve into the chilled glass.
  6. Garnish with a cocktail cherry or an orange peel.
