Description
The Suffering Bastard is a classic cocktail with a legendary history. It was invented in 1942 by bartender Joe Scialom at the Shepheard's Hotel in Cairo as a hangover cure for Allied soldiers. The drink is an unusual but brilliant combination of gin and brandy, which, with the addition of lime juice, spicy bitters, and sharp ginger beer, becomes an incredibly refreshing and invigorating long drink. It is the perfect proof that sometimes the strangest mixes yield the best results.

- Shake vigorously.
- Strain into a highball glass or Tiki mug filled with fresh ice cubes.
