Description

The Stinger is a classic two-ingredient cocktail that likely originated in the United States in the late 19th century. For a long time, it was a popular drink in high society and is considered an excellent digestif. The combination of the rich, wine-like depth of Cognac and the cool, refreshing bite of crème de menthe is unique and elegant.

Preparation

  1. Fill a wine glass with ice to pre-chill it.
  2. Add Cognac and crème de menthe to a mixing glass filled with ice and stir until chilled.
  3. Discard the ice from the wine glass.
  4. Strain the contents of the mixing glass into the chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
