Description

The Sandy Collins is the Scottish version of the famous Collins cocktail. It follows the classic formula of the Collins family (spirit, lemon, sugar, soda) but replaces the gin of the Tom Collins or the bourbon of the John Collins with Scotch whisky. This change gives the refreshing long drink a subtle smoky and malty depth that harmonizes wonderfully with the acidity of the lemon. A perfect drink for those who want to enjoy their Scotch in a lighter, more sparkling way.

Preparation

  1. Add Scotch, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake well until the shaker is cold.
  3. Strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
  4. Top up with soda water.
  5. Stir gently and garnish with a lemon slice and a cherry.
