Description

The Rusty Nail is a classic cocktail that enjoyed great popularity in the 1950s and 60s and was considered one of the signature drinks of the "Rat Pack." It is an extremely simple drink made from just two ingredients, built directly in the glass. It combines the smoky, malty power of Scotch whisky with the complex sweetness of Drambuie, a Scotch-based liqueur flavored with honey and herbs. The result is a strong, warming, and slightly sweet sipping cocktail.

Preparation

  1. Fill a tumbler glass with a large, clear ice cube.
  2. Pour the Scotch whisky and Drambuie directly into the glass over the ice.
  3. Stir gently to combine and chill the ingredients.
  4. Express a lemon peel over the drink to release its essential oils and add it as a garnish.
