Description

The Russian Spring Punch is a modern classic created in the 1980s by London bar legend Dick Bradsell. The drink is a kind of "Vodka Kir Royale" in the form of a long drink. It combines the clean base of vodka with the deep, fruity sweetness of crème de cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) and the zesty acidity of lemon. Topped with sparkling wine or Champagne, it becomes an incredibly refreshing, fruity, and elegant drink that captures spring in a glass.

Preparation

  1. Add vodka, crème de cassis, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake briefly and vigorously.
  3. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes.
  4. Gently top up with well-chilled sparkling wine.
  5. Garnish with a blackberry and a lemon slice.
