Description
The Pimm's Cup is the epitome of the British summer. It is the official drink of the Wimbledon tennis tournament and a staple at any garden party. The drink is based on Pimm's No. 1, a gin-based herbal liqueur with a secret recipe. Topped up with sparkling lemonade or ginger ale, its full character is only revealed through the generous garnish of fresh mint, strawberries, orange, and cucumber slices. This "salad garnish" is not just for decoration but gives the drink its distinctive, fresh aroma.
Preparation
- Fill a large highball glass or a jug to the brim with ice cubes.
- Add a few mint leaves, strawberry slices, an orange slice, and a cucumber slice to the glass.
- Pour the Pimm's No. 1 over the top.
- Slowly top up with the chilled sparkling lemonade.
- Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
- Garnish with another mint sprig.
