Description
The Naked & Famous is a star of the modern cocktail era and a perfect example of the rise of agave spirits. It was created in 2011 by bartender Joaquín Simó in New York and is a clever twist on the "Paper Plane" and the "Last Word." The drink combines equal parts of smoky mezcal, the sweet and herbal yellow Chartreuse, the bitter-orange Aperol, and fresh lime juice. The result is an incredibly complex yet perfectly balanced cocktail that masterfully unites smoky, sweet, bitter, and sour notes. A drink for connoisseurs and those who aspire to be.
Preparation
- Pre-chill a coupe glass.
- Add all four ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously until the shaker is ice-cold (about 15 seconds).
- Double-strain the contents of the shaker into the chilled glass.
- Optionally, garnish with a lime peel.
