Description
The Jack Rose is a classic American cocktail that peaked in popularity during the 1920s and 1930s. It is a simple sour based on applejack, an American apple brandy. The combination of the strong apple notes of the applejack, the sweetness and color of the grenadine, and the fresh acidity of lemon results in a wonderfully balanced and quaffable drink. It was even mentioned in Ernest Hemingway's novel "The Sun Also Rises," which cemented its iconic status.
