Description
The Ipanema is one of the most famous and beloved mocktails in the world. Named after the famous beach in Rio de Janeiro, it is essentially a non-alcoholic Caipirinha. It captures the essence of the Brazilian classic—fresh, muddled limes and cane sugar—but replaces the cachaça with a refreshing mix of passion fruit nectar and ginger ale. The result is an incredibly zesty, fruity, and invigorating drink that conveys pure summer feeling.
Preparation
- Cut the lime into eighths and place it in a sturdy highball glass with the brown cane sugar.
- Muddle vigorously to release the juice and dissolve the sugar.
- Fill the glass to the brim with crushed ice.
- Add the passion fruit nectar.
- Top up with ginger ale and stir gently.
- Garnish with a lime wedge.
