Description
The Garibaldi is a classic Italian aperitif, often simply known as Campari Orange. Named after Giuseppe Garibaldi, a key figure in the unification of Italy, the drink symbolizes the union of the bitter Campari from the north with the sweet oranges from the south. The secret to an exceptional Garibaldi lies in using freshly squeezed orange juice, ideally briefly frothed to create an airy texture ("fluffy orange juice"). The result is an incredibly refreshing and perfectly balanced drink with just two ingredients.
Preparation
- Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the Campari into the glass.
- Add the orange juice (ideally freshly squeezed).
- Gently stir with a bar spoon to combine the ingredients.
- Garnish with a fresh orange slice.
