The Fernandito is a cocktail that originated in Argentina and is considered a national drink there. The name of the drink comes from its main ingredient, Fernet Branca, an Italian bitter liqueur known for its bitterness and distinctive flavor. Originally, the Fernandito was created by Oscár "el Negro" Becerra in his bar in the central Argentinian province of Córdoba. Becerra reportedly couldn't drink Genever anymore due to health concerns, so he turned to Fernet Branca instead. Finding it too bitter, he promptly mixed it with Cola. The result was a refreshing and slightly sweet cocktail that quickly became a favorite among many guests at Becerra's bar and eventually spread throughout Argentina. The Fernandito remains a popular drink today, known for its unique taste and offered in many bars and restaurants in Argentina as well as internationally.
