Description

The Churchill cocktail is a tribute to the legendary British Prime Minister and was created by Joe Gilmore, a bartender at The Savoy Hotel in London. It is a sophisticated drink that combines the smoky depth of Scotch whisky with the sweetness of vermouth, the orange notes of Cointreau, and a hint of fresh lime. The result is a perfectly balanced, spicy, and slightly sweet cocktail, excellent as an aperitif or digestif.

Preparation

  1. Fill a coupe glass with ice to pre-chill it.
  2. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes.
  3. Shake vigorously until the shaker is ice-cold on the outside.
  4. Discard the ice from the glass.
  5. Strain the contents of the shaker through a fine sieve into the chilled glass.
  6. Garnish with an orange peel.
