Description

The Champagne Flip is a luxurious and historic cocktail belonging to the "flips" category—drinks made with a whole egg to create an incredibly rich and creamy texture. This version is particularly refined, combining the warmth of brandy and the complex herbal notes of Chartreuse with the fine bubbles of Champagne. The result is an opulent, silky, and festive drink, perfect as a dessert cocktail or for a very special occasion.

Preparation

  1. Pre-chill a coupe glass.
  2. Add all ingredients except the Champagne to a cocktail shaker.
  3. Perform a "Dry Shake" (without ice) for at least 20 seconds to perfectly emulsify the egg.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously again ("Wet Shake") until ice-cold.
  5. Strain the contents of the shaker through a fine sieve into the chilled glass.
  6. Slowly top up with the chilled Champagne.
  7. Carefully grate a pinch of nutmeg over the foam head.
