Description
The Bramble is a celebrated modern classic created in the 1980s by London bar legend Dick Bradsell (the inventor of the Espresso Martini). The name "Bramble" is the English word for a blackberry bush, which perfectly sets the tone for the drink. It is essentially a Gin Sour served over crushed ice and drizzled with a shot of Crème de Mûre (blackberry liqueur). The liqueur is "floated" over the ice, allowing it to slowly bleed through the drink, creating a beautiful visual effect.
Preparation
- Shake gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup vigorously in a shaker with ice.
- Fill a tumbler glass to the brim with crushed ice.
- Strain the contents of the shaker into the glass.
- Slowly drizzle the Crème de Mûre in a circle over the crushed ice.
- Garnish with a fresh blackberry and a lemon slice.
