Description
The Bitter Orange Spritz is a wonderfully simple and refreshing variation on the classic Italian spritz culture. Instead of a liqueur like Aperol or Campari, this version uses a high-quality bitter orange soda directly. This soda already brings the perfect balance of the sweetness of ripe oranges and a pleasant, tart bitterness. Topped up with sparkling Prosecco, it creates a light, uncomplicated, and incredibly quaffable aperitif that is less sweet than many of its relatives.
Preparation
- Fill a large wine glass to the brim with ice cubes.
- Pour the Prosecco into the glass.
- Slowly top up with the chilled bitter orange soda.
- Stir gently once.
- Garnish with a large, juicy orange slice and serve immediately.
