Description

The Between the Sheets is a classic cocktail from the Prohibition era, known for its seductive name and potent character. It is essentially an evolution of the Sidecar, where a portion of the cognac is replaced with white rum. This small change gives the drink an additional, lighter, and subtly sweet note. The combination of the depth of cognac, the freshness of rum, the orange aroma of triple sec, and the acidity of lemon results in a perfectly balanced and sophisticated drink.

Preparation

  1. Pre-chill a coupe glass with ice.
  2. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake vigorously until the shaker is ice-cold on the outside.
  4. Discard the ice from the glass.
  5. Strain the contents of the shaker through a fine sieve into the chilled glass.
  6. Express a lemon or orange peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.
