The Barracuda Cocktail is a sweet, fruity cocktail made from a mix of Rum, Galliano, Pineapple Juice, and Lime juice. It was first created in the 1960s by an Italian bartender named Pepe Ruiz at the Sfärisk Bar in the famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. The Barracuda is often considered an upgraded version of the classic Piña Colada. Its bright yellow color and sweet, fruity flavor make it a popular choice for summer or tropical occasions. The combination of Rum and Galliano gives it a complex, spicy note that perfectly complements the sweet Pineapple Juice. Although the Barracuda is not as well-known in the U.S. as some other cocktails, it is quite popular in some parts of Europe, especially in Italy. In some bars, it's also served with a variation that includes Blue Curaçao, giving the cocktail a lovely blue hue. Overall, the Barracuda is a refreshing and approachable cocktail, making it a perfect choice for anyone who prefers a sweet and fruity drink.
