Description
The B-52 is one of the most famous and visually impressive shots ever created. Named after the American B-52 Stratofortress long-range bomber, the drink captivates with its precise three-layer structure. The three liqueurs—coffee liqueur, Irish cream, and orange liqueur—are carefully poured over one another, utilizing their different densities. The result is not only a visual highlight but also a delicious, sweet, and creamy shot with notes of coffee, cream, and orange. A popular variation is the "Flaming B-52," where the top layer is ignited.
Preparation
- Carefully pour the coffee liqueur into a shot glass.
- Pour the Irish cream very slowly over the back of an inverted bar spoon onto the coffee liqueur to form the second layer. The spoon should touch the inside wall of the glass.
- Using the same technique, pour the orange liqueur as the top layer onto the Irish cream.
- The shot is meant to be drunk in one go.
